Where Strength Meets Success:
Stories That Inspire
Golf
Carson
Carson has been training at Tiger Strengh & Fitness since the fall of his sophomore year. He had a limiting knee injury before we met him - however, he was able to gain an impressive amount of speed, strength & power through a conservative start - increasing intensity/complexity with a step-wise approach. He has been able to competitively golf on the previously injured knee and continue improve his golf game without exacerbating the previous injury. We are excited to keep on eye on Carson’s senior year as he is poised to be one of the state’s top contenders.

Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!
“I have been working with Nate West for two years. I first met with Nate after dislocating my knee. Through his customized programming, he has helped me not only recover but also, he has helped me gain more confidence and strength. In the sport of golf specifically, I have always had a decent amount of power. Since working with Nate, I have increased my strength, which has led to more of a controlled and effortless power. My body and muscle awareness has improved as well. We also have a lot of fun during our workouts and I know he cares about my progress and me as a person.”

Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball & Skeleton
Grant
Grant has been a client of Tiger Strength & Wellness for 12 years.
Before training at Tiger he mentioned that he would often experience over-use injuries and that he was prone to muscle cramps during his sporting events. Grant also presented with flexibility/mobility limitations in vital areas that were holding him back from being at his best. Our first focus was on developing mobility by increasing range of motion in strength training exercises and teaching body awareness to help solidify proper movement patterns. After building a base of strength and mobility we were able to shift the focus to developing speed and full body power.
Grant has built an extremely impressive resume playing ultimate frisbee. He played two years with the Detroit Mechanics professional ultimate frisbee team, has been to several beach ultimate world championships, and has always been an integral part of the many club/league teams that he’s competed with at regional & national-level tournaments. He has continued to stay busy every year - participating in dozens of tournaments while playing with multiple teams ranging from men’s, coed, masters, and select teams with two-day tryouts.
Grant also plays indoor & outdoor volleyball one to three nights per week and several weekend tournaments over the year. Grant also currently coaches club ultimate at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
I have been a Tiger client for a very long time now, and I credit Nate/Tiger as the mastermind behind me achieving, and exceeding, my fitness and athletic goals. Nate has helped me get to some incredible highs--three ultimate frisbee world championship competitions and the training program for the US Skeleton Team--and been there for the lowest of lows--an ACL recovery.
The folks at Tiger know when to push hard and when to tone things down. Since my default setting is always to go 100%, I really appreciate having an expert help guide me on the days when going all out is not the healthiest or safest choice.
Nate and the Tiger team care about their clients. They develop training plans devoted to your specific goals and use their vast educational knowledge and experiences as high-level athletes themselves (Nate was a Division 1 swimmer) to fine-tune the program to your specific life stage and activities.
At Tiger Strength & Wellness, you'll find passionate people that care about you as an athlete and as a person and can keep you accountable while making the workouts enjoyable. The gym is constantly being upgraded with new and unique equipment, so there's always something new to look forward to.
I cannot recommend Nate and Tiger Strength & Wellness enough.

Hiking/Climbing, Adventure Racing, Running
Dr. Tracy
Tracy is a doctor and mother of four who has been training at Tiger Strength & Fitness for 8 years.
Tracy completed the 29029 Hiking/Climbing Challenge, was a Hyrox & Spartan Race finisher, and she dominated the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim (23+ mile) Hike. Tracy has also become quite the runner - enjoying road races from one-mile up to 5k and is on track to getting faster and faster. In Addition to endurance activities, Tracy has also achieved some impressive strength goals - she has bench pressed 160lbs, squatted 185lbs, and deadlifted 225lbs.
Nate West, my personal trainer at Tiger Strength and Wellness, has been transformative in my fitness journey. I cannot overstate the impact he has had on me. Nate has been instrumental in helping me conquer challenges such as 29029 Everesting, Spartan Race, Hyrox, and The Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim, while also achieving several personal bests in lifting and running.
Nate’s qualifications and expertise are impressive, as evidenced by his degree in kinesiology and multiple certifications in strength training, fitness, and sports-specific conditioning. Nate has been an elite multisport athlete all his life, including competing as a Division 1 swimmer. This competitive experience complements his formal training. I’m particularly impressed with his profound understanding of anatomy and physiology.
Nate takes the time to understand goals and meticulously craft a training plan. His coaching has yielded success across a diverse clientele - from high school state champions and professional athletes to everyday fitness enthusiasts. Nate has the ability to push people beyond their perceived limits while keeping workouts engaging and fun. His attention to form is impeccable. Simply put, best trainer ever!
Tiger Strength and Wellness provides a refreshing alternative to intimidating and impersonal big-box gyms. Its intimate, recently remodeled, space features state-of-the-art equipment ideal for personalized training. Change your life for the better and check it out!

Swimming
Tommy
Tommy trained at Tiger Strength & Wellness from 7th or 8th grade until 12th grade. He has won championships with Southwest High School, has been to 2 olympic trial swim meets, and went on to swim for Arizona and now swims for Arizona State (last year’s NCAA champions).
Nate West was my trainer at Tiger fitness for around 5 years, I believe from eighth grade to graduating high school. As a competitive swimmer, strength training is a very important part of seeing success in the pool, and Tiger has helped me in so many ways. I won six individual state championships in high school and I credit Nate and Tiger to a lot of that success.
When I first started training at Tiger under Nate, I was much weaker, uncoordinated, and not quite sure how to properly strength-train. Nate helped me gain lots of strength, find coordination, and taught me how to set reasonable goals and actively work to attain those goals.
Currently, I am a top D1 swimmer at a top 5 school in the nation, hoping to earn national titles. When I talk with younger swimmers in the Lincoln area, I always recommend Tiger for them. Nate helps build success and great character, I can’t recommend Tiger highly enough.

Softball
Rachel
Rachel trained at Tiger Strength & Wellness over her winter break of her senior then grad/5th year before the softball season in the spring.
Rachel had quick and consistent performance increases in the weight room where we set goals and surpassed them. She improved upon her sprint speed & acceleration, Olympic weightlifting form & power, and rotational core power/general core strength. Just as important as the performance related measures - we saw improvements in posture & flexibility especially relating to she shoulders which is an area important to throwing, hitting, and longevity/injury reduction potential. All of the above improvements translated well into her softball performance. Rachel recorded a team-leading 12-Doubles her senior year & 12-Doubles plus 4-Home Runs during her grad/5th year. Her team went on to play at the NCAA Division-1 Tournament Regionals where they won their school’s first ever NCAA Tournament game!
She is from Lincoln East High School and now coaches softball and basketball there, and has continued her education working towards her Master of Science (M.S.) in Nutrition and Health Sciences with a Nutrition and Exercise Specialization.
Great environment to achieve your goals! Nate is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. Perfect for athletes looking to excel or anyone wanting to build a healthy lifestyle. Highly recommend!
